[Fantasy Baseball] Bragging about who's got the smallest...
Flem Snopes : April 9, 2008 04:00 PM

...sample size.

yoknapatawpha's dh jim brown was 1-for-2 in real ball. he seems to be good for at least one hit and a walk (usually two) per game. of course, his health is a constant "f" (not that it matters... yet) and he doesn't qualify for any position but dh.

anyone playing a guy with 1 at-bat or inning?

I really want Eddie Gaedel.

at least he'd have better stats than moonlight graham (and i was disappointed when i found out that the game doesn't recognize chisholm, minnesota, as his birthplace).

Moonlight Graham was born in Fayetteville, NC, which I don't think the game recognizes that either. After he completed his medical degree only a few years after his major league appearance, he moved to Chisholm and began practicing medicine.

d'oh... i should have known that, thanks. i should probably consider actually checking birthplaces before i go to a town.

I had someone with 3 innings, but I've since dropped him.

i had a hitter who was 0/3 for his career, but i have also dropped him.

got someone with 2 games, 1 ab

oddly enough, i got 1991 Tom Gordon as a DH (1 game), not a pitcher. with 0 ABs (maybe he pinch ran in a long extra inning game?), i might have set a new record for smallest sample size.

Whiskeytown has added Mike Loan, and his career 1-for-2, as its new DH. He's 8-for-10 in his first 2 games.
